Room is really big with a comfortable bed.
Room is really big with a comfortable bed. Washroom looked amazing, it definitely exceeded our expectations! We had in-room dining from the restaurant. The food was really good but rather expensive. Beautiful pool. Delicious welcome drink!
In our room there was a door to the room next to us. Because of this the room was far from soundproof and we could hear noises from a couple that I'm sure they would rather have kept private. Breakfast was really basic and some things didn't taste fresh.

Paradise - an excellent hotel
The staff were so willing to help - they even played badminton with my daughter. They remembered us from last year, upgraded our room, baked us a "welcome back cake" and gave us a couple of glasses of wine. What more could you ask for? Food was to a very high standard and the pool was perfect too.
Had some problems booking the airport transfer using the hotel's own shuttle. The first quote was $150 per person (it was $100 for us all last year). We agreed a 15,000 rupee total (approx $100). The next morning, we got a call to say that the price was wrong and it should have been $200. After a firm conversation they backed down.

What was the highlight of Club Waskaduwa Beach Resort & Spa
Nice hotel, but doesn't act like a 5-star resort.
Lovely: View to the beach - Comfy bed with soft pillows - Nice room - great outside pool with access directly to the beach.
Not so Great: The attention to detail needs to be lifted, the windows/ the lift all need to be cleaned hand prints everywhere. - The staff need better service training, when asking for a coffee it shouldn't take 10mins and then another 10mins for sugar, the staff need more 5-star training, more attention to detail and a bit better English skills. - The hotel seemed to have run out of a lot of stock (all minibar items sold out, tap beer sold out, some soft drinks sold out, even some food items sold out) - I felt the hotel looked like a 5-star resort but it didn't act like one, no one rest for the next day correctly, all glass windows were dirty, all staff need a more 5-star training - when a reset of dinner tables or sun lounges weren't done correctly. - Food was not 5-star at all. Hotel needs to invest in training and cleaning for all hotel staff.
